spotlight (2015)
Tom McCarthy's Spotlight looks to be an expose on exposes, the hurdles and intrigue of investigators and in doing so brings criticism of journalism in the same breath it praised its merits. It's a film that's right on time with the Oscar prospects to prove it, aside from the awards potential, Spotlight brings McCarthy presents the press as a court of public opinions, a necessary counter-point of the court of law, through which society roots out corrupt individuals and practices before they spoil the bunch.
