shin godzilla (2016)
In Shin Godzilla, the monster movie is yet again retold as a mirror to the modern bureaucracy. Lampooning disaster response from government officials, the film depicts, in comedic detail, the inept chain of human indecision and slogging inefficiency resulting from top-down leadership. An uninspired re-make this is not, rather, Shin Godzilla displays itself as a contrasting statement in reflex to the original Gojira's intent.
