A Woman is a woman (1961)

Godard's A Woman is a Woman is, even more than Breathless, the first time the cinema felt truly alive. The film is free in a way cinema had never been, to explore and joke with human eccentricities as well cinematic convention. Few films are able to exist in such a space, A Woman is a Woman seems to come alive in front of our eyes, it seems to live on the screen in real time, it even seems to react to its audience as it happens.
